In school, I didn't 'know' that one was supposed to go home and practice the math that was done in class. My math note book only saw the daylights while in the classroom or at home while I did my homework. Though the homework was never a problem, Exams weren't very good either.
I'd always get a near above average score, until class 3 when all the complications of the world decided to come date me!
One fateful Math Oral exam day in class 3, my teacher asked me to say the table of 9.
I wondered for a minute or two and then promptly said, "Miss, I know the 3 table! 3 ones are 3. 3 twos are 6. 3 threes are 9..."
My teacher, surprised as she was, sternly said," 9! The table of 9! NOW!"
I proceeded to say, "I don't know miss..."
All that my teacher could do was say,"Go back to your seat..."
Thank you ma'am for not making me pee my pants there... I know the Table of 9 now! :D
However it didn't end there...
The torture of Multiplication tables continued in class 4, where we had to learn them from 11 to 20
11, 12, 15 and 20 were never a problem...
and 14, 16, 17, 18, 19 I never bothered enough to learn...
I tried learning 13 though and on another Math oral exam day I was asked for the table of 13.
With an unbeatable confidence, I began," 13 ones are 13, 13 twos are 26, 13 threes are 39, 13 fours are I DON'T KNOW!... *Silence*
and ma'am said, "Go back to your seat..."
I still don't know the table of 13 ma'am... Sorry... :(
